The second phase of apartments at a £50M residential scheme in Hunslet has sold out.
Developer JM Construction (Leeds) Ltd said the sale of the 74 one and two bedroom apartments means all 160 units in the first two phases at Victoria Riverside are now sold, with work currently underway on phase three.
The overall scheme will extend to approximately 350 units with completion scheduled for 2023.
Professional sports stars and investors are among the buyers at the development which includes the conversion of the former grade II and grade II* listed Hunslet and Victoria flax spinning mills, as well as some new build.
John Mulleady, managing director of JM Construction, said;
“We have seen huge interest from a range of buyers with the investor market being particularly strong. The development is ideally located to be incorporated into the regeneration of the Leeds South Bank, meaning that there is plenty of potential for capital growth going forward.
“With Leeds United back in the Premier League the profile of the city will only increase and this will help drive investment and bring people into the area which should be good news for property owners.”
Meanwhile, the sympathetic conversion of the listed buildings has been applauded by Historic England.
Trevor Mitchell, Regional Director (North East and Yorkshire) said:
“As Victoria Riverside demonstrates, mills are full of character and make for wonderful homes, work places and cultural spaces. They also deserve to be restored to their former glory and enjoyed by current and future generations.
“JM Construction and their professional services partners are to be applauded for their vision and commitment to such an ambitious project.”
