Beeston boxer Ismail Khan’s latest professional bout will take place on Friday 6 September 2019 at Elland Road.
The announcement comes after Khan’s previous fight, scheduled for July 13, was cancelled due to another fighter pulling out.
The opponent and specific details of the September card have not yet been confirmed. Doors will open from 4 o’clock before the boxing starts at 5.30pm.
In an Instagram post, Khan said the fight was “going to be another step up the ladder” and urged followers to “make some serious noise!!!! The support is massively appreciated”.
Khan, who is trained by Julian McGowan, will be looking to extend his undefeated record as a professional boxer after winning his first two bouts.
The 21-year-old already has fond memories of fighting at Elland Road. He made his professional debut the home of Leeds United in November last year with a fourth-round knockout victory against Jake Pollard before defeating Ukraine’s Dmytro Kostenko on points in March 2019 in his second professional bout.
In a previous interview with South Leeds Life, Khan said:
“I’m always ready. Other professional boxers take time out – I don’t take time out. I’m always training, I’m always on it and on weights.
“We go in there and do what we learned in the gym. That’s the main thing.
“Boxing for England as a senior boxer – which is the main thing you want to do – I’ve done all that. Now I want to get to the top as a professional.
“I’m doing it for everyone. I represent young fighters in Leeds that are trying to do something.”
