Lane End Primary School celebrated its first Children in Need day with a bun sale as well as a non-uniform day and face-painting extravaganza on Friday 13 November 2015.
The school opened in September 2015 on the site of South Leeds Sports Centre in Beeston. The children baked buns all week to contribute and even the teachers got involved with a ‘Lane End Bake Off.’ The winner of the bake-off was our Nursery team, with an amazing raspberry and almond cake. Altogether they made an outstanding £300, two of the children even emptied their money boxes in contribution to the event.
Head teacher Asa Britton said:
“I am so proud of all our children and families, it is an amazing achievement raising so much money. We are a new school of year one, reception and nursery, only 130 children and to raise £300 shows great community spirit and caring for others. Well done Lane End.”
