Leeds City Council is excited to announce that building work has now commenced to create Beeston Community Hub and Library.
The programme of works will lead to a much improved modern facility for the benefit of the local community.
Local ward member, Cllr Gohar Almass commented:
“The refurbishment and the reopening of Beeston Library to create a Community Hub is great news and I look forward to seeing the larger modern space. The additional services that will be delivered there such as Housing, Benefits advice, and other Council services are needed in our area.
“The new space gives the community access to more services on their doorstep. The upgrading of the Library part of the building along with new computers is welcomed.”
Plans of the facility (above) show how the new layout will bring a larger and more open space as well as improved access, with an additional new entrance on Town Street. It is anticipated that work will be completed by the middle springtime.
Looking forward to the opening of the library and new hub.
