White Rose Shopping Centre has this week welcomed the return of its annual Christmas Appeal, which supports Leeds children’s charities Kidz Klub Leeds and Leeds Baby Bank throughout the festive season.
The centre is inviting guests to get into the giving spirit and donate toys and gifts suitable for ages 0-16 plus baby essentials such as formula and nappies until Wednesday 20 December 2023, when the donations will be wrapped and distributed to children and young people across Leeds by Kidz Klub and Leeds Baby Bank.
In addition, White Rose is hosting an amazing charitable opportunity for ice hockey fans on Monday 11 December. For a donation of just £5, with all proceeds going towards Kidz Klub, visitors can skate with members of the Leeds Knights from 5pm. Tickets can be purchased via whiterose.icetickets.co.uk
Kidz Klub Leeds provides support for more than 1,000 children and their families across Leeds in the form of community work, fun activities, and home visits. Donations made in the run-up to Christmas will help Kidz Klub to provide much joy this festive season and to maintain support to children across the local community all year long.
Founded in 2017, Leeds Baby Bank was set up to support families in and around Leeds. Donations made this Christmas will aid the charity’s work, helping thousands of families in need to ensure that no child goes without.
White Rose will also be hosting a gift-wrapping donation station to benefit Kidz Klub, from 11am–4pm on Monday 18 to Sunday 24 December. Located next to M&S, guests who spend more than £100 in-centre can have up to three gifts wrapped for free.
Steven Foster, Centre Director at White Rose Shopping Centre, said:
“The Christmas Appeal is an annual event that is incredibly close to our hearts at White Rose, and we’re pleased to announce its return this year as we partner with inspirational local charities, Kidz Klub and Leeds Baby Bank.
“Leeds Baby Bank reports that there are more than 33,000 children living in poverty in Leeds, and our guests’ generous contributions make a real difference in our community, helping to support so many deserving families and spreading much-needed joy and cheer during the festive season”.
Sarah Turner, Charity Co-leader at Kidz Klub, said:
“Here at Kidz Klub, we are so thankful to the guests of White Rose, who year on year never fail to deliver smiles to the children we work with. Christmas can be a challenging time for many families, and your support helps to ease the pressure and return the joy!”
Ellie Brown, Charity Manager at Leeds Baby Bank, said:
