It might still be November, but Christmas is definitely on its way and communities around South Leeds are preparing to switch on their own local Christmas Lights. Here’s a full rundown:
Hunslet Carr
Hunslet Carr Residents Association and Hunslet Carr Primary School invite you the lights switch on at the junction of Balm Road and Moor Road on Thursday 28 November. The School choir will sing carols in the grounds of Arthington Court from 5pm with the lights switched on at 5:30pm.
Followed by free refreshments: tea, coffee and cake. There will be a craft stall and a chance to buy your Hunslet Remembered 2020 Calendar (£3).
Beeston
Join the Salvation Army band to sing carols from 5:30pm outside the Co-op on Town Street on Thursday 28 November. The lights will be switch on at 6pm followed by refreshments (hot dog or burger) at Beeston Parish Centre.
Holbeck
The Chistmas Lights in Holbeck will be switched on at 5:30pm on Sunday 1 December outside St Matthew’s Community Centre on the corner of Holbeck Moor.
Middleton
Join ward Councillors Judith Blake, Kim Groves and Paul Truswell at 3:30pm on Monday 2 December at Middleton Park Circus. Children from local schools will sing carols
Belle Isle
Join ward Councillors Judith Blake, Kim Groves and Paul Truswell and pupils from Windmill Primary School at 3:30pm on Tuesday 3 December at Belle Isle Circus.
As per no lights on Dewsbury Road same in summer with hanging baskets councillors can sponsor baskets on tempest road for the few but not on Dewsbury Road a main thoroughfare for white rose
