Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

We start with a What’s Off. Middleton Woods parkrun has cancelled this week’s event due to problems at the Leeds Urban Bike Park car park. But Cross Flatts parkrun will be going ahead as usual, starting at 9am.

Apart from the usual parkrun and roller skating, we have two more events in Cross Flatts Park on Saturday. First up is the monthly Leaf 11 Craft and Homemade Food Market. Organised by Better Action For Families, it runs from 9:30am-12:30pm at the Watsonian Pavilion.

Later on the Igbo Union Yorkshire promise barbecue, drinks, bouncy castle, football and more; all sound tracked by DJ Festo.

Slung Low host four performances of Is Anyone There? at The Holbeck on Saturday and Sunday. The show has been put together by Imagine If theatre who work with ex-offenders amongst other groups.

On Sunday Hunslet RLFC take on the Coventry Bears at South Leeds Stadium, kick off 3pm.

As it’s a Bank Holiday Middleton Railway will be running steam trains all weekend: Saturday, Sunday and Monday. There will also be a diesel service on ‘kids for a quid’ Wednesday.

Eiger Studios are holding a family friendly open day on Tuesday 11am-4pm. Have a go at making and mixing music, film-making, creating a band name and a logo, and more creative activities. The studios are at the town end of Dewsbury Road next to the motorway on New Craven Gate.

Wednesday morning sees a Police Contact Point session at Jamyang Buddhist Centre on Ingram Road in Holbeck, 10:30am-12pm. This a chance to raise any issues of concern with the Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Then the Beeston Climate Hub team are hosting a Mini Olympics event on Wednesday, 12:30-2:30pm in Cross Flatts Park, for kids, with seven different sports, and prizes for winners.

Our Councillors will be meeting as the Inner South Community Committee on Wednesday at the Civic Hall, starting at 2pm
