What’s On Roundup 19-25 February 2022

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

Your Space Leeds host their women’s walking group in Middleton Park on Saturday morning at 11am.

Slung Low present How To Be A Better Human on Saturday at 7:30pm. The one man show is described as a “spoken word comedy about grief, loss and self-acceptance.”

On Sunday Leeds United entertain Manchester United. Kick off is at 2pm and residents can expect the usual extra traffic in Beeston before and after the match.

The Friends of Middleton Park are busy this week starting with a guided Winter Walk on Sunday afternoon. Meet at the Visitor Centre at 1:30pm, dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Then on Tuesday is there is free outdoor games and sports, 1-3pm and on Wednesday there is free den building 12-3pm.

Monday sees the start of The Hunslet Club’s half term activity camp, which runs through to Friday 9am-3pm.

There’s another opportunity for a walk in Middleton Park on Monday, 11am, this time organised by Carers Leeds and giving carers a chance to walk and talk.

The Tetley, Hunslet’s own art gallery, is the place to be on Wednesday. They are launching their permanent Tiny Tetley Studio, an art space for pre-school children 10am-12pm. The Library Service’s Story Bus will also be on site 10am-3:30pm.

If you’ve been inspired by the Winter Olympics, why not try indoor Kurling at St Andrew’s Community Centre? MHA South Leeds (formerly South Leeds Live At Home) run sessions on the second and last Wednesday of the month, 10-11am.

And finally, on Friday, the Beeston Nightriders will be blinging up their bicycles with extra lights for their monthly ride. Meet at the Chaii Shack in the car park of the Kashmir supermarket on Dewsbury Road at 7pm.
