What’s On Roundup 18-24 April 2026

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds.

We start this week in Hunslet at Moor Road station, the home of Middleton Railway. Saturday is Community Day and you’ll find a host of local organisations advertising what they do. As a bonus, train rides are free. 10am-4pm.

Over at Dewsbury Road Community Hub & Library they are celebrating community diversity at their Festival of Cultures Market. The event, which will take place outside in the car park from 11am-3pm will feature music, food, stalls and an Easter egg hunts for children. The Big Bike Fix will be there too, so bring your bike in for a check up. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a fun multicultural day out.

From 1-4pm the Belle Isle Repair Café will be back at BITMO’s GATE (LS10 3QH). The fixers and stitchers will be on hand to give your goods a second lease of life, you can even get your knives and scissors sharpened. At 3pm there will be a planning meeting for this year’s Belle Isle Gala. There will also be winter coats and tea and toasties will be on offer. From 1:30pm there will be a Councillor surgery.

Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club’s First XI start their league campaign against Great Preston CC on Saturday at 12pm. The home fixture is at their ground on Gipsy Lane, Beeston, LS11 5TT.

Wath Brow Hornets are the visitors to Hunslet ARLFC on Saturday afternoon at Hunslet Club Sports Village, opposite Morrisons, kick off at 2:30pm.

Then Leeds United entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premiership, kicking off at 3pm on Saturday. You can expect the usual heavy traffic and parking issues around Beeston, Holbeck and Cottingley before and after the match.

The Mothers’ Union is holding a Beetle Drive charity fundraiser on Saturday at Beeston Parish Centre (opposite Nisa) at 7pm. Tickets include a pie and peas supper and a lot of old-fashioned fun.

Enjoy the early Spring with a guided walk around Middleton Park on Sunday. Meet the Friends of Middleton Park at 1:30pm at the visitor centre.

Better Beeston are holding a community litter pick on Sunday afternoon. Meet on Maud Avenue at 3pm, equipment provided.

Manorfield Hall is hosting a new Crafting in the Community group. It meets every Tuesday from 10-11:30am. The free sessions are a chance to try new crafts and meet new people. LS10 3RR.

On Wednesday morning there’s a free legal advice drop in at Beeston Community Hub & Library, Town Street, LS11 8PN.

And finally, on Friday residents of Beeston & Holbeck ward can meet their Councillors at the monthly surgeries: 4pm at Beeston Library on Town Street; 5pm at Slung Low’s Warehouse in Holbeck on Crosby Street; and 6pm at Cottingley Community Centre.
