What’s On Roundup 1-6 February 2024

Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

We start with the Volunteers who will be meeting at 10am on Saturday at Hunslet Cemetery, Middleton Road, to carry out various tidying up activities. New people are always welcome and equipment is provided.

The Church of the Nazarene host a coffee morning with affordable breakfast on Saturday morning, 10am-12pm. Lupton Street, Hunslet, LS10 2QR.

Leeds Dads who will be holding another free Soft Play session of the year, 10am-12pm on Saturday morning at Little Angels behind the Tommy Wass pub, LS11 7HL. This for dads and pre-school children and there’s free tea and toast! Book: leedsdads.org/events

Leeds United are at home to Cardiff City on Saturday, kicking off at 3pm. You can expect the usual heavy traffic and parking issues around Beeston, Holbeck and Cottingley before and after the match.

Also on Sunday the Leeds Knights take on the Swindon Wildcats. The ice hockey match faces off at 5:15pm at Planet Ice on Elland Road.

As it’s the first week of February there are a number of residents meetings taking place, starting with Middleton Community Group which meets on Monday, 6-7pm, at the Middleton Elderly Aid Social Centre, Acre Road, LS10 4LF.

Also on Monday, the Greenmounts & Surrounding Area Tenants & Residents Association meets at 6:30pm at Rowland Road Working Men’s Club, LS11 6ED.

On Tuesday evening South Leeds Lakers start their free Couch to 5k (C25K) group for new and returning runners.  sign up now here

The Middleton Life History Group meets on Wednesday at 10am at the United Reformed Church, Nesfield Road, Belle Isle, LS10 3LG.

Join Holbeck Together’s new Supper Club on Thursday 4-6pm at St Matthew’s Community Centre. Book your table on 0113 245 5553.

Hunslet Carr Residents Association meets on Thursday, 6:30pm, at Woodhouse Hill Community Centre, LS10 2EF

Also on Thursday, Beeston Community Forum meets at 7:30pm at Beeston Village Community Centre, off Town Street, LS11 8DQ.

And finally, on Friday morning Middleton Elderly Aid host their monthly legal advice session from 9:30-11am at their social centre on Acre Road, LS10 4JQ.
