Two men have been arrested after a man was injured in a reported firearms discharge in Leeds.
Police received a report at 10.11pm last night (1 September 2026) that a man is his 20s had attended hospital with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds to both arms. His injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.
Following further enquiries, a scene has been established on Cambrian Street, Holbeck, where the offence is understood to have taken place.
Two men, both aged 26, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and are currently in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Bates, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said:
“We understand that any discharge of a firearm will cause some concern in the wider community and local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.
“I would like to reassure members of the public that we have extensive enquiries ongoing to establish the circumstances of what has happened and those involved.
“I would urge people to support our investigation by reporting any information about anything they may have seen or heard in the vicinity of Cambrian Street last night which could be connected to this incident. This can either be done directly to the police or, if people would prefer, anonymously to Crimestoppers.”
