Pupils from Cockburn School in Beeston have put on a festive version of The Wiz, a retelling of the classic Wizard of Oz story.
This year’s production of The Wiz had a talented cast, many of whom have performed on stage over recent months at both the West Yorkshire Playhouse for the Shakespeare Schools Festival, and at the Northern Ballet/Phoenix stage as part of a national AIDS awareness project.
They recently held annual Gala performance where Cockburn School celebrated the partnership and support of businesses, community representatives and education partners from Primary, F.E and H.E.
This year, ASDA and Cockburn are working together to support the Leeds Ahead Make the Grade programme where Year 10 students will be mentored by ASDA colleagues. This is in addition to the large number of business mentors from a longstanding relationship with international law firm Pinsent Mason.
The Wiz ran December 6-9.
