There’s more on offer at Middleton Park Golf Course

Fancy a cup of coffee and a bacon butty?  From this weekend you can drop in to the club house at Middleton Park Golf Course (on Middleton Ring Road, just below the water tower) any time between 10.00am and 3.00pm, seven days a week.

The club room has been refurbished so that it will be available for private hire – why not pop along to the club house and see what facilities are now available?

You don’t have to play golf to enjoy what the club house has to offer but next week there’s a special offer to play a round of golf for just £9 – excellent value!

The club is stepping up its advertising efforts– look out for banners on the water tower which will appear soon.

These developments are all part of efforts to make the course more viable and remove the threat of closure, which is hanging over the course. Ian Bertie, Chairman of the Club said:

“We are continuing to explore a number of ways of developing the facilities at the golf course so we can improve the course’s viability and safeguard its future”

It is understood that discussion about the future are at a critical stage – South Leeds Life has suggested that at an appropriate time it would be good to hold a public meeting about the course’s future and will continue to press for this.

  1. Credit to those making efforts to improve the club, but I’d like to see the council sell all their courses off. There’s a private course next to this one golfers can use, if they so wish. I’d prefer this land to be returned to woodland, or a garden like RHS Harlow Carr.
