Greenhouse, the multi award winning development situated in Beeston represents a new way of life and the community here is flourishing. On Sunday 2nd June from 12-4pm Greenhouse will be hosting a good old-fashioned neighbourhood get together for “The Big Lunch”.
The Big Lunch is a national event and a very simple idea. The aim is to get as many people across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours once a year in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. The belief is that by simply having some fun with our neighbours of different generations and backgrounds we become more positive and make long lasting friendships.
Greenhouse is powered entirely by sustainable energy and has an emphasis on strong community spirit. Residents here are super busy – growing their own vegetables, which are sold in the on-site deli and making use of the vintage cycle scheme to ride in to the city.
The event is open to everyone and people are encouraged to bring food, drinks and games.
There will be music, a BBQ and plenty of entertainment, come along and bring a cake to compete in the Great Greenhouse Bake-Off! It will be a great day, come and see for yourself what goes on here. Greenhouse is on Beeston Road, LS11 6AD there are 9ft wind turbines on the roof, so you can’t fail to spot the building!!
