Children from Windmill Primary School will be out and about performing Christmas music in Hunslet and Belle Isle on Thursday (5 December 2013), culminating with the switching on of the Christmas lights on Belle Isle Circus. The school has been working with teams from Opera North’s In Harmony programme.
The pioneer of council housing in south Leeds – whose legacy can still be felt in Middleton, Belle Isle and across south Leeds even today – has been commemorated with a historic blue plaque marking his achievements.
