Friends and family of people who lost someone to a drug-related death in Leeds will remember them with a special event on International Overdose Awareness Day. The memorial will take place from 10:30am leading up to a minute’s silence at 11am, in Penny Pocket Park, opposite Leeds Minster on Thursday

Beeston charity New Hope has sadly closed its doors after 16 years service to the local community. The small organisation, based at the Nazarene Church on Hunslet Hall Road, has since 1999 provided wide-ranging support for people battling drug and alcohol addiction – but has now called it a day.
