The Beecroft girls, Ada aged 6 years and Annie aged 4 years, were the illegitimate daughters of Thomas Mellor. Their mother Ada Beecroft, had been committed to the Menston Asylum at Guiseley where she died in November 1899. Some time before Ada’s death Mellor had moved in with another woman

Attempted sexual assault on sex worker in Holbeck

Police are appealing for information following an attempted serious sexual assault on a sex worker in Leeds. The victim, a 28-year-old woman, was approached by a man near to the junction of Bridge Road and Czar Street in Holbeck at about 10.45pm last Friday (15 September 2017). When she declined
