Summer course for young dancers at Northern Ballet

 

Northern Ballet is now taking bookings for their 2014 Summer Course for 6 – 13 year olds designed to get children moving during the summer holidays and give them the opportunity be creative and make new friends whilst experiencing and enjoying dance no matter what their level of experience.

Northern Ballet summer courseNorthern Ballet is one of the UK’s five big ballet companies and it’s based here in Leeds. As well as their main productions they run a community programme including ballet’s such as 3 Little Pigs aimed at children which premiered at the Hunslet Club, before touring the UK.

On the four-day Summer Course children will explore the adventures of Peter Pan in Neverland to gain inspiration to create their own story based on the characters and themes from the classic tale. The course also involves a daily ballet class and dance and storytelling sessions with Northern Ballet’s expert teachers who will help to turn the stories into a performance for family and friends at the end of the course.

The Summer Course will be held at Northern Ballet’s state-of-the-art headquarters in Leeds city centre from 9am – 3.30pm on 18 – 21 August 2014. The course is priced at £120, (£110 with a Breezecard), concessionary rates available (based on proof of Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support or Employment and Support Allowance).
