St Luke’s Holbeck launches Job Club

Looking for work? Need help with your job applications, CV or interview skills? Would you like to have the opportunity to get together with other people in your position? Then our CAP Job Club could be just the thing for you.

St Luke’s Holbeck is running a Job Club for eight weeks from Monday 21 March 2022. Doors open at 10am for refreshments and the Club starts at 11am until about 12:30pm. The Job Club format runs throughout the country and has been developed by Christians Against Poverty in Bradford. We’ve received specialist training from CAP so we can offer support and practical advice to people who are unemployed.

Mike Wrigglesworth, St Luke’s Church CAP Job Club Manager said:

“We really want to make a practical contribution to the community and think running a Job Club is the best way. The course is for anyone – whether you’ve been out of work for a while or a short time, or are looking to change jobs but aren’t sure where to start.”

The eight week course provides jobseekers with essential skills, such as CV writing, interview techniques and the value of volunteering. At the heart of the course is a supportive peer group where people can share their experiences, struggles and advice. In addition, everyone is given one to one coaching to develop their strengths and identify other opportunities.

Mike said

“We aim to provide a warm, friendly and relaxed environment- let us help you take your first steps into employment and a job you’ll enjoy.”

As above, we run from Monday 21 March 2022 at 10am at St Luke’s Holbeck (Beeston Hill), Malvern Road, Leeds, LS11 8PD.
