South Leeds Roundup: Post Offices, Hawks and Bogus Callers

Here’s your regular roundup of what’s making South Leeds tick on other websites and blogs.

Over on the Cottingley TRAC Facebook page, they are trying to get their estate post office reopened. Councillor Adam Ogilvie has posted a template letter for people to send in support.

Also, Groundwork have posted that they are looking for a community home for a snooker table. It’s free, but very big!

Bogus callers“If in doubt … keep them out” is the message to residents in dealing with bogus callers on the Holbeck Neighbourhood Policing Team Facebook page. They also report on cautions being issued to two women in Holbeck thought to be “soliciting for the purposes of prostitution”.

Aire Valley Homes Leeds has been kind enough to post our Stank Hall Barn meeting as a Facebook event. Do sign in to let us know that you will be coming to meeting!

AnHunslet Hawksd finally this week, supporters’-owned Hunslet Hawks seem to be making a patchy start to the Rugby League season. After winning their first home game they went down to defeat 40-0 on Sunday at Leigh. The match report is here on their website.

  1. I have been a tenant in the Rosedales for over 46 years, I now own my house, but I have reservations about the people who are allowed
to now rent council property in the Rosedales. They have dogs and other animals. Their gardens are untidy. Years ago the houses were inspected it is now more control was done before tenants were allowed to rent.
