South Leeds responds to Coronavirus Covid-19

Following the Government’s change of advice yesterday (16 March 2020) many organisations have changed their operations and most public events have been cancelled.

South Leeds Life is keen to play a useful role locally as we all tackle the Coronavirus pandemic. We won’t be covering the global or national situation. We won’t be looking for sensational headlines. We plan to provide useful, local information.

The Neighbouhood Networks provide vital support services to older people in our community including social activities and hot meals. These groups are closing their social activities and moving to delivering food to members’ homes. They can also help with shopping. If you know anyone who would benefit from their services, or if you can volunteer to help, please contact:

All rugby and football matches and training sessions have been suspended including community clubs. South Leeds Lakers running club has suspended both senior and junior sessions. A number of races scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled. DAZL has suspended its community dance programme.

The Holbeck club has cancelled all performances and the club will be shut until further notice.
