Do you notice anything different about this post? We’ve redesigned the site and hopefully you will find it easier to read.
We would like to apologise that the new design isn’t completely bedded in yet. We had a few glitches over the weekend, but by the end of the week you should see the the finished product. The main change we’ve made is to move to a design that is easier to read on a mobile phone or tablet (such as an iPad). We know that a large section of our readers view our stories on these devices rather than a desktop or laptop computer.
We would love to get your feedback. Please tell us what you like or dislike about the new design. Tell us what features you would like to see on the site too and we will try to incorporate your ideas. Please add you comments below.
A regular print edition
We can also reveal that we are going to start producing a regular, monthly print edition of South Leeds Life. Our first edition will be out in December.
Back in June we produced a pilot edition that was very well received. We believe a print edition is very important to reach the many people in the area that are not yet online and able to access this website. We distributed 5,000 copies around LS10 and LS11 through libraries, schools, community centres and other venues. In case you missed it, you can view it here.
I think generally the design is good but the title needs to be bigger especially the strap line what’s happening in … just so it is easy to view and read
It looks good, but I’d be interested to know what criteria is used to identify featured articles – it took a bit of getting used to the most recent articles being further down the page.
Thanks for your comment Andy. As Editor I choose the featured articles based on what topics are generally of greatest interest to our readers. It’s not scientific, but we know planning, employment and local history stories are always well read.
