Slimming World member enjoys healthy lifestyle throughout pregnancy

Joanne was at her target weight having lost 1st 8lb following Slimming Worlds Extra Easy eating plan and attending her Friday morning Hunslet group along with her Mum.

“It was great that I could continue to follow the plan whilst pregnant” says Joanne. “I gained a lot of weight with my first baby and that’s what led me to join Slimming World in the first place, to lose my baby weight, so I really didn’t want to go back to my start weight, being pregnant again”

Extra Easy is recommended by The Royal College of Midwives as a plan for ladies to remain at a healthy weight throughout their pregnancy. There are forms to be completed by the members midwife, advising them whether to gain, lose or maintain their weight and if members fall pregnant while at their target, they can attend free of charge throughout their pregnancy.

“I have cut out most of the unhealthy foods but I can still have a treat when I want” explains Joanne. “I was eating snacks of crisps, chocolate and takeaways and replaced them with healthier versions. I snack on fruit and I’ve swapped my takeaways for “fakeaways” such as slimming world curry or lasagne!”

“I would recommend it to anyone says Joanne, “I’m never hungry and I can cook meals that all the family can eat like spaghetti bolognaise and chilli.”

After giving birth to a healthy baby boy in January, Joanne got back to her target weight in just 6 weeks and has maintained her target weight since, even while on holiday and is loving life!
