Last Wednesday (4 December 2013) saw children from the local primary schools join with residents at Middleton Park Circus to sing carols and switch on the Christmas Lights.
On Thursday (5 December) the gale force winds disrupted some of the celebrations in Belle Isle, but children from Windmill Primary together with staff from the In Harmony Opera North project performed at Morrisons in Hunslet in the morning. The Christmas Lights concert was moved from Belle Isle Circus to Windmill Primary School in the afternoon.
Thursday also saw a hundred residents watch the first switch on of Christmas Lights in Beeston. This was followed by refreshments, music and magic at Beeston Parish Centre.
It was Holbeck’s turn on Saturday (7 December) with the annual Christmas Market at St Matthew’s community centre, followed by switching on Christmas Lights on Holbeck Moor.
Watch out for details of more Christmas events coming up over the next week.
