Prepare for traffic delays in Holbeck

Gas pipeline works will see Domestic Street in Holbeck closed to traffic for four weeks from Monday 7 August to Sunday 3 September.

Roadworks in Holbeck February 2017

Northern Gas Networks are carrying out gas main replacement works. There are currently temporary traffic lights on Whitehall Road close to Dunelm Mill and the works will progress up Domestic Street.

Domestic Street will then be closed completely between the junction of Ingram Gardens and the roundabout at the bottom, by the viaduct. Diversions will be marked and residents have been informed.

NGN’s Customer Care officers have been door-knocking local businesses and residents to update them on progress and provide details of the traffic management plans.

Engineers will be working from Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm and NGN will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.

Ashley Whitfield, Project Manager for Northern Gas Networks said:

“We have been working closely with Leeds City Council to carefully plan these works in order to minimise any disruption to customers.

“We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank our customers for their patience and support in getting the works completed as quickly as possible.”
