Penelope RETOLD at the HUB

The latest play to come to Slung Low‘s Holbeck Underground Ballroom (HUB) is Penelope RETOLD this Sunday (26 April 2015) at 5pm.

Welcome to Ithaca. Island paradise and home to Penelope. She’s married to a world famous war hero and she’s had enough of waiting quietly. Made with input from soldiers and military spouses, Penelope RETOLD is an irreverent collision of classic myth, The Odyssey and contemporary rage. Get ready for a theatrical storm that sweeps through poetry, songs, comedy and YouTube clips towards a poignant and furious conclusion.

Olivier Award nominee and Stage Best Solo Performer, Caroline Horton, presents an epic, heartbreaking and fiercely playful tale of love, loneliness and the need to be free.

Suitable for all audiences aged 13+

Miriam Gillinson in Sketches on Theatre said:

“compelling, relatable and honest… [it] manages to hold on to the magnitude of the Greek myth whilst also puncturing it at every turn.”

There is a very limited capacity so to reserve a ticket please email boxoffice@slunglow.org with the number of tickets you wish to reserve and a contact telephone number.
