Nominate your unsung hero for an award

Is there an individual, group or organisation you know that goes above and beyond for their community or in the workplace?

Nominations are open for the 2018 Compassionate City awards, organised by Leeds City Council to recognise and celebrate the work of the city’s many unsung heroes. The awards will recognise community projects and organisations; young people; learning establishments; cultural and arts projects; as well as the Unsung Hero of the Year. This video shows last year’s winners:

Tom Riordan, the Council’s Chief Executive said:

“As a city, we all truly value the important and positive work that individuals, community groups and organisations do every day to make their local communities and our City a great place to live, work, and visit.  These contributions improve the lives of the people of Leeds and help us to deliver the vision for our City ‘to be the best city in the UK: one that is compassionate with a strong economy and that tackles poverty and inequality.’”

Full details of how to nominate someone for an award are available on the Council’s website here: www.leeds.gov.uk/your-council/leeds-compassionate-city-awards-2018

The closing date for nominations is Friday 28 September 2018. The awards ceremony will take place at Leeds Civic Hall on Thursday 22 November 2018.
