People in Leeds are being invited to nominate a general practice nurse who they think deserves recognition for The General Practice Nursing Awards 2018 taking place in March this year.
NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Groups Partnership is calling on local people to shine a light on practice nurses who have made a difference to their health or that of a loved one. The awards aim to recognise and reward the vital contribution nurses make in a primary care setting.
The public, including patients, carers and nurses are eligible to nominate. There are eight award categories including ‘The People’s Choice Award’. The judges are looking for general practice nurses and healthcare practitioners who consistently go above and beyond to provide outstanding care.
The invitation to the awards comes from the Yorkshire & Humber General Practice Nursing Awards Committee.
Clare Linley, Lead Nursing Officer at Leeds Clinical Commissioning Groups Partnership said:
“This is an exciting opportunity for the general public to show appreciation for a general practice nurse who has made a real difference. General practice nurses work extremely hard and the awards are a great platform to show them the recognition that they deserve. We want to encourage nominations from Leeds as I know how hard general practice nurses work in the city offering specialist clinical advice. They deliver vital healthcare services to a range of patients.”
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the NHS Leeds CCGs website: www.leedswestccg.nhs.uk/news/general-practice-nursing-awards-2018.
The deadline for nominations is midday 6 February 2018.
There is an award ceremony in March 2018 where the winners will be announced.
