Next Stop Knostrop

A new project will help South Leeds youngsters get a feel for boats and learn some new skills this summer.

Next Stop Knostrop runs for three days from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 August 2018. The free sessions run from 10am-3pm each day and are aimed at 13-25 year olds. You can sign on for one, two or all three days.

Each day you can hang out on and around the water, learn skills such as driving a canal boat and operating locks and get hands on with practical conservation and stone working such as stone carving or wall building.

You can also find out more about jobs and apprenticeships in range of heritage craft skills such as stone masonry.

Next Stop Knostrop is brought to you by Canal Connections, a social enterprise committed unlocking the potential of people young and old through activities on canal boats and is part of Yorkshire-wide project for young people called Ignite Yorkshire supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. These activities are also funded via Leeds City Council local ward Councillors of the Inner South Community Committee for Hunslet and Riverside.
