New Lottery fund to support community enterprises

 

Community groups are invited to find out more about the National Lottery’s new funding to back community enterprises across the country at an event being held at Hillside in Beeston next Friday (5 September 2014).

power-to-change-website-logoPower to Change’ is a £150 million Big Lottery Funded initiative which will open later this year and support community led enterprise across England. Power to Change is described as:

“All about supporting people to come together and create a community enterprise to tackle local need and make their community a better place to live.”

The workshop runs next Friday from 10am to 4pm and will feature speakers and workshops from a range of community enterprises and organisations including Locality, Plunkett Foundation and UnLtd. Community enterprises can deliver all sorts of initiatives from bakeries to green power projects. The venue for the workshop, Hillside, is itself a community enterprise. Sometimes these projects are about saving services that are being closed down, sometimes about providing new services to the community. There’s more information in this video:
