With the May half-term holiday just around the corner (Monday 29 May – Friday 2 June), you will be looking for ways to entertain the children in your care. The only problem with half-term holidays is that the kids get to be home; however, the adults might still have to work. Plus, how do you keep kids entertained every day for a week?
The Hunslet Club, in the heart of South Leeds, hosts activity camps every school holiday to ensure every young person in South Leeds and surrounding areas has somewhere to come during the half-term.
Activity Camps are an ideal way to ensure young people are not wandering the streets or sitting bored at home. We offer many activities to ensure every young person returns to school with positive memories, regardless of whether they spend one day with us or four.
What sort of activities do our young people do during activity camp? Day-to-day varies, based on what our campers want to do that day, but some popular activities include:
- Indoor sports
- Baking/cooking
- Dancing
- Party games
- Gymnastics
- Outdoor games
- Playing in our onsite games room
- Sing-a-longs
- Football
- Dodgeball
- Arts and crafts
- Activities in the onsite hair and beauty salon
Those are just a handful of activities we do, as some campers may suggest something creative on the day, and our youth workers will do their best to accommodate any suggestions.
During break time, we also have activities in the main area, such as air hockey, foosball, a pool table, and various board and card games. Campers can also grab snacks, food, and drinks from the affordable, onsite tuck shop.
We even have a Rugby Activity Camp this half-term for those looking to try a new sport or refine their skills. All skill levels are welcome at our Rugby Activity Camp; whether you’ve played before or have never played Rugby, our coaches tailor these sessions to suit the young people who attend.
Our evening activity sessions are still running throughout the May half-term holidays, excluding bank holiday Monday, unless stated otherwise. We want to ensure every young person has a memorable and entertaining break; therefore, The Hunslet Club will always be a home away from home for any young person who needs a safe, supportive, fun place.
