Low crime figures discussed at Middleton Community Group

Sergeant Richard Hunter attended the latest Middleton Community Group meeting together with PCSO Jonny Smith. Also present were councillors Judith Blake and Kim Groves plus five residents.

The very low crime figures over the past six weeks since the last meeting were discussed and were well received.

The residents present stated they had no real crime/anti-social behaviour concerns other than the current local priority, anti-social behaviour on Bodmin Street, near to the garages where youths are still congregating. They asked for this to be retained as the priority until the next meeting.

The group have seen attendance at the meeting drop over the past 12 months and are considering reverting back to an evening meeting in the hope of attracting more residents.

Sergeant Hunter informed them that Rothwell NPT will continue to promote the meeting via the Rothwell facebook site and website and assist with a letter drop the group are hoping to do before the next meeting.

The next meeting time and date will be confirmed.
