Leeds’ First Junior Technology Festival Takes Place At The Hunslet Club

The innaugral LSx Junior Junior Technology Festival took place at the Hunslet Club in South Leeds on Sunday 25th September. Over 50 children and their parents took part and went on a photo walk, made stop-motion lego animations, pin hole cameras and even recycled old mobile phone chargers into mood lamps. You can see some of the animations that were made here video highlights of the day here and some of the photos that were taken here and photowalk shots here.

Said Monica Tailor, organiser: “LSx Junior came about one evening over dinner with friends, we came up with the idea of hosting an event to inspire kids to explore technology. I run a web design agency in Leeds and have a young family so it’s a topic close to my heart. Giving my children good experiences of technology is really important, I want them to be comfortable and happy with technology rather than seeing it as scary or threatening. All the activities and workshops at LSx Junior were chosen because they’re about using and making technology in unexpected ways but mostly they’re all about having fun.”

Well done to LSx for organising the event, it was great fun!
