Inside Out: offering women ‘me time’

Inside Out is a women’s group that has been meeting for six years in Middleton, offering fun, friendship, food and fitness.

The group has a friendly environment and a focus on health and wellbeing. The activities are decided by the women in the group, but one staple is a 45 minute keep fit exercise session, which kicks off the weekly session at 6pm each Tuesday.

Inevitably the social side and the chance to chat about any issues sometimes takes over, but that often serves a purpose in itself.
The group recently moved to the Parochial Hall in Middleton and plan to use its kitchen facilities to bring back a monthly healthy cooking session. Other activities have included mindfulness meditation, a yoga taster session and even a pampering evening.

There’s a real mix of ages and some women bring their children with them. With its informal atmosphere it’s clear the women see Inside Out as a relaxation space.

“There are six in the house, so this is ‘me time’” says Ada.

Inside Out has recently secured funding from the National Lottery and is able pay for facilitators, so if there’s something you’ve always waned to try, come along and suggest it to the group.

Forthcoming activities for autumn 2018 will include Vegan and Vegetarian cookery as well as taster sessions in Aromatherapy and Essential oil making.

The group is organised by Health For All. For more information contact Gayle on 07852 945286.
