Inner South Community Committee support older people.

Leeds Civic Hall was the venue for a gathering of charities, volunteers, civic leaders and older people living in Inner South .

The theme of which was the aspiration to make Leeds, the best city in the country for older people. The day was a mixture of guest speakers including the Lord Major, information sharing through stalls with organisations such as Stroke Association, Care and Repair, West Yorkshire Police, craft sessions and exercise , a light lunch and a quiz.

The combination of recreational activities, information sharing and socialising one part of a wider agenda to combat social isolation and loneliness for older people. This event targeted older people living in Inner South Community Committee locality and this Community Committee brought this event to fruition. The finality was cabaret singer Emma James bringing musical classics to an enthusiastic audience.
