Hunslet Nelson look forward to 2026 season

After another successful season for the club in 2025 with another Jack Hampshire Cup win, making the T20 final and our 2nds gaining promotion, Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club are hoping to have another successful year.

After a tougher time in the league last season we are hoping to get back to the levels that saw us narrowly miss out on promotion in 2024.

In the past few years we have improved massively as a club and we want to continue this improvement.

In terms of new signings – we have brought in an overseas in Australian Luke Ajani who is an opening batter for Kingston Hawthorn in Melbourne and had UK experience last season at Actonians in Middlesex.

We have also signed Bailey Goodlad from Morley who is an exciting young all-rounder who will strengthen our top order. He is currently in Australia playing for Pasco Vale Hadfield and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the club properly in April along with his family.

Josh Morris has left to join Altofts. We were obviously disappointed to lose him as he’s been at the club since he was 8 years old, but we understand the opportunity he was offered there and his reasons for leaving and wish him all the best.
This resulted in needing an opening bowler and we have brought in Ibby Younas from Gomersal. Having played with Ibby (at Elland) I know what he will bring to the club. Not only a great player but a top bloke too.

Patrick Hinchcliffe will open the bowling with him having excelled in the 2nd team last season with bat and ball.
We are lucky as a club that we don’t lose many players at all in any off season and there is a passion across the club to play and win for Hunslet Nelson.
