Hunslet Hawks have helped raise money for four students Sophie Rowe, Hannah Jenkins, Megan Dunworth and Naomi Priest from Abbey Grange Academy who have volunteered to go to India for 3 weeks in July and work for ‘Year Out India’. The girls will work with the rest of the staff voluntarily to help develop and improve the sanitation facilities within the village.

The girls will be travelling to Kerala, Southern India and embarking on a journey which is self-less and far from the usual summer holiday, no sunbathing or water sports but helping to create a long term and sustainable project to benefit those who are less fortunate.
The girls have been hard at work fundraising and Hunslet Hawks have generously donated a signed Hunslet Hawks Shirt which the girls will be auctioning off to raise money to help those less fortunate in India. The Hawks shirt signed by the 2013 squad members will be auctioned in the near future; for any bids please email Tina Rowe at tinarowe@talktalk.net.
Hunslet Hawks hope to help the girls in their future fund raising pursuits by assisting them in holding Race Nights and Touch Rugby Festivals all for the cause of those less fortunate in India.
