The group have been trying to screen the Moor from the M621 motorway with hedging for several years. Previous plantings have succumbed to large quantities of salt and water coming off the motorway surface. Laurel has been chosen this time as it should withstand these conditions.

Holbeck In Bloom were supported through Leeds Ahead who broker support from companies in the city to community organisations. In this case the volunteers came from Leeds University. Holbeck In Bloom also continued their partnership with Beeston In Bloom which has seen the two groups work together on various projects such as the work at St Anthony’s Drive and Holbeck Cemetery.
