‘Hands of Remembrance’ poppy at Clapgate Primary School

Every child at Clapgate Primary School from nursery to year 6 created a hand of remembrance to combine to create a giant poppy which went on display just in time for Remembrance Day 2021.

The children shared stories, had time for reflection and used drawings and words to create their own ‘hand of remembrance’. They learned about the significance of the 11th month, of the 11th day and the 11th hour.

The display is both beautiful and poignant. Lest we forget.
