Half term activities in South Leeds

As the May half term holiday kicks off, we have pulled together some ideas of things to do:

Middleton Railway

As well as the usual weekend services, trains will be running on Middleton Railway on Bank Holiday Monday and Wednesday 1 June.

On Sunday 29 May you can join a guided walks along the old mining trails in Middleton Woods.

Middleton Leisure Centre

There’s a full range of children’s sports activities from Tuesday 31 to Friday 3 June. Racket sports taster sessions and fun football cost just £1; and on Friday your encouraged to bring your friends to play football on the 3G pitch for £1.50. Full programme here.

John Charles Centre for Sport

Tennis, swimming and diving are on the agenda at The John Charles Centre for Sport. Activities range from one day or half day to four day courses. Prices vary and are discounted for Leeds Card holders. Full programme here.

Middleton Show Painted facesFriends of Middleton Park

Sunday activities feature a Magical Story Walk on Sunday 29 May and a four hour feast of Magic & Mayhem on 5 June with circus skills, magic, mystery and drumming.

There will also be organised play sessions from 1-3pm on Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1 June.

Belle Isle Family Centre

It’s Family Movie Night on Tuesday when Minions The Movie will be shown together with healthy and affordable snacks.

The Hunslet Club

Arts and crafts, dodgeball, baking, football, dance, movies, basketball are all on offer at The Hunslet Club’s Activity Camp. Prices are from £4 per half day, call the club on (0113) 271 6489 or email dhall@hunsletclub.org.uk.

The Tetley

Hunslet’s Tetley art gallery will be running half term art workshops. Buzz, Babble and Clamour is the name of just one of the sessions.
