Grants awarded to South Leeds youth projects

A number of community projects for young people were awarded grants at the council’s January inner south area committee meeting at Tenants Hall Enterprise Centre.
The projects include:

LCC - Full Colour LogoDAZL £9,375 for its community dance leaders project; Breeze £10,000 for its Friday Night Project; Health For All £7,500 for its junior reporters scheme and £7,580 for its Little Chefs  cooking project; Leeds 2 Success £8,520 for Grand Jury project; The Hunslet Club £31,680 for after-school vocational training; Youth service Middleton, £4,000 for youth celebrate, £3,000 for holiday youth activities and £3,000 for joined up generational youth; South Leeds Music Centre £2,160 for a summer project; Cottingley Youth Project £4,980; The Works £2,224 for bike maintenance and BMX course; and area support team £12,000 (estimate) for a brochure of activities.

There are also plans for £60,000  improvements to the play area in Cross Flatts Park, which are currently being discussed between councillors and officers.
