Health for All and Time to Shine have linked up with The Reiki Experience to offer beginners Reiki classes to over 50’s in South Leeds who would like to make new friends and learn a lovely technique that benefits the body and mind.
Life can be stressful for many of us and it is important to therefore take time do what makes you feel good. Trying something new, meeting new friends and learning a skill can make a real difference. Sue Malcolm, Master Reiki Practitioner and Teacher, who will be running the classes said:
“I have seen some of my students totally transformed within a few months of learning Reiki and ready to face the world with new interest, confidence and enthusiasm. When learning Reiki myself, I was told it would change my life. I didn’t believe it … but here I am now teaching the wonders of this gentle yet effective technique and running a holistic animal good cause organisation (Friends Of Baxter Animal Care) that offers Reiki to distressed, nervous and otherwise suffering animals.”
Reiki is a holistic, non-invasive, complementary therapy that is most well known for its relaxing and calming effects. This healing energy technique promotes the body’s own natural healing and may help with physical, mental and emotional issues. In addition to being relaxing, which in itself can help to reduce stress or anxiety, Reiki can be uplifting and produce an enhanced feeling of overall well-being. Growing numbers of people are also seeking this therapy to assist with recovery from injury, surgery and illness, in addition to many other health matters. Treatments are given in a quiet environment, fully clothed, sitting or lying on a treatment bed.
The 10-week class will include Usui Reiki attunements, as well as learning theory and putting your learning into practice. After this course you will be able to give Reiki to yourself and to friends and family. This therapy can benefit men, women, children of all ages and animals, and it is lovely to both give to and receive. Anyone can learn it. There just needs to be a desire to help yourself and/ or others, along with a feeling of compassion. Then Reiki will flow to those open to receiving it.
Classes will run for 10 weeks from Tuesday 3 March to 5 May 2020 at 2-3:30pm in Belle Isle at our local community centre (please phone for more instructions on how to find us!). Just six places are available and most sessions must be attended for a Level 1 Reiki certificate to be awarded at the end of the course. This could set you on the way to possibly helping other people and animals too.
So, if it interests you, what are you waiting for? Make 2020 your year!
