So here we are steaming into December which means that it’s almost a year since we moved into The Holbeck.
What a difference a year makes! It has been so wonderful to be welcomed into this space and to be able to share it with others. As a way of celebrating we will be hosting our Christmas Fayre in the Holbeck on Saturday (14 December 2019) from 12–4pm. This one promises to be our biggest yet with over 40 different stalls.
Let’s come together for a mug of mulled wine or a hot chocolate, tasty treats and gifts for your stockings. The Holbeck’s very own choir will perform and then lead us through a sing-along with some of our favourite carols and they’ll be a choice of Pay What You Decide hot food with a roast hog or vegan casserole, storytelling, performances, live music and more!
It really will be a lovely afternoon and we’d love to see you there.
To continue with the festive theme we shall also be throwing an unparalleled Boxing Day quiz here at The Holbeck from 7pm so do join us to test your knowledge and sample our soon-to-be famous exotic cheese board and have a great time with friends old and new.
If you want to escape the political frenzy or would like something to do after you’ve cast that vote then we have a wonderful family show on here at The Holbeck on Thursday (12 December 2019) from 7-8pm. Called HO HO HO, it’s an alternative Christmas Show for those who might still be looking for their Christmas spirit. As usual both of these shows are you Pay What You Decide after watching.
Finally if you have a short story about Holbeck that you would like to enter into our competition Once Upon a Time in Holbeck then you still have few weeks to do so, either pop them in to us or email them over to holbecktales@slunglow.org
We will be open on the following days over the Christmas period.
- Christmas Eve: 7:30–11pm
- Boxing Day: 12– 11pm
- Friday 27 December: 7:30pm– 12:30am
- Saturday 28 December: 7:30– 11pm
- Sunday 29 December: 11:30am– 11pm
and we have a late license for New Year’s Eve so we’ll be open 7:30pm–1am meaning you can see in the New Year here.
If you haven’t been before we’re on Jenkinson Lawn just opposite the Holbeck Moor. Everyone’s welcome and we’d love to see you here soon.
