Elderly couple in hospital following ring road crash

Police are appealing for witnesses or video footage after a road traffic collision in Leeds which left the driver of a car with life threatening injuries and the passenger seriously injured.

The collision happened on the A6110 ring road in Beeston at the junction with Elland Road at 2:30pm yesterday (17 October 2023).

A grey-coloured Audi A6 was travelling from the ring road towards Elland Road when it was in collision with a black VW Golf which was travelling away from Junction 1 of the M621.

A third vehicle, a black Nissan 370Z, which was also travelling away from Junction 1 of the M621, failed to stop and left the scene of the collision.

The driver of the Audi, a male aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. The passenger, a female also aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital with life changing injuries.

Roads policing officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the manner in which the VW Golf and Nissan 370Z were driving prior to the collision to contact West Yorkshire Police by calling 101 or go online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat quoting reference 0835 of 17/9.
