Emmerdale hunk Adam Thomas drew record breaking crowds as he officially launched the festive period at the White Rose Shopping Centre this week.
James Bailey, centre director at White Rose Shopping Centre, comments: “Our 2013 Christmas Light Switch On has been our busiest start to the festive period in recent years and our line up, headed by Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas, certainly proved popular with Leeds shoppers.
“The event marked the official start of our extended festive opening hours, so shoppers now have plenty of time to complete their Christmas shopping. This year’s event was bigger and better than ever with lots of activities happening on the mall, including our Treat Bar which rewarded White Rose shoppers with various gifts to thank them for their loyalty and support over the past twelve months.”
This year’s event was supported by Radio Aire and the breakfast show DJ’s Rich and Naomi, hosted the evening. The Radio Aire Street Team were also on the malls looking for one lucky family to win the top ten toys for Christmas, as chosen by the centre’s official Toy Testers from Middleton St Mary’s Primary School.
Bailey concludes: “With our undercover malls and free car parking, White Rose is the perfect one-stop-shop for Christmas when it’s cold outside. Our shoppers can pick up everything from those all-important stocking fillers to the Christmas Day turkey.”
Santa will also be back at the centre this festive season. He will be residing on the mall between Next and Zara from Saturday 16 November to Tuesday 24 December. The opening hours are:
- Saturday-Sunday: 12pm-5pm (16-17 November)
- Thursday-Sunday: 12pm-5pm (21 November – 1 December)
- Tuesday – Sunday: 12pm – 5pm (3-23 December)
- Christmas Eve: 10am – 3pm
The Christmas opening hours at White Rose, between Thursday 14 November to Tuesday 24 December are:
- Monday – Friday: 9am – 10pm
- Saturday: 9am – 8pm
- Sunday: 11am – 5pm
- Christmas Eve: 10am – 6pm
