Council consults over improvements to Hunslet Cemetery

Local residents in Hunslet are being asked their opinions on potential improvements at Hunslet Cemetery following a campaign for better security.

A letter to residents living close to the vandal-hit cemetery have received letters from Joanne Clough from the council’s parks and countryside department. The letter says that following recent vandalism, landscaping and environmental improvements need to be made, as well as improvements to security.

A number of possible proposals are available for residents to consider.

The proposals follow pressure from the Friends and Relatives of Hunslet Cemetery Group and representations from ward councillors.

More details of the proposals are available on the Friends’ facebook page.
