An independent panel met this week to come up with a shortlist of just five projects out of the 23 that applied for the St Luke’s CARES Community Awards.
In no particular order, the shortlisted projects are:
Panel member Cllr Adam Ogilvie commented:
“We had our work cut out as a panel as all the applicants were worthy of selection. What it demonstrates is that there are many community groups in South Leeds making a real difference. After much deliberation we managed to narrow it down to our top five. We will watch with interest as the public choose their favourite three. Well done to St Luke’s Cares and South Leeds Life for making this possible.”
South Leeds Life will be visiting each project to find out more about what they do before we hand judging over to you, the South Leeds public. You will be able to vote at the St Luke’s CARES charity shop on Dewsbury Road.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to submit an article about their group. And also to thank them for the amazing work they do to help make South Leeds a better place to live.
