Come On, South Leeds, Let’s Talk Money!

In these days of austerity, of tightening belts (and wallets), shrinking budgets (at work and at home) and rising VAT and petrol prices increases – to name but a few, I’m excited to be able to share some information on a FREE financial course for staff working in South Leeds.

Learning Partnerships, a charity that’s ‘putting children and families first’, is offering a FREE one day ‘train the trainer’ course for school staff/ front-line workers on the ‘Let’s talk money!’ financial inclusion course. ‘Let’s talk money!’ was developed in Leeds and addresses the issues around money management in friendly, fun workshops.  This course links closely with the Every Child Matters outcome of ‘Achieving Economic Wellbeing’; the Children Leeds ‘Reducing Child Poverty’ priority in the 2009 – 2014 plan and links to the ‘Narrowing The Gap’ agenda (Leeds Strategic Plan).

Following the course, the trained staff to deliver the workshops to their groups with all resources provided FREE of charge.   If you do undertake the training there is an expectation to deliver at least one course and return the feedback forms.

This course ticks a lot of boxes – it’s FREE (favourite price!), it offers staff a FREE course in money management, it’s FREE (still my favourite price) and it provides people in the community with an easy to understand financial education.
