Bulb planting at Sharp Lane Plantation

South Leeds Life reader John Mace has sent us the following details about an event which shows real community pride in the Middleton/Belle Isle area. He writes:

“Could you please advertise a bulb planting event on Sharp Lane Plantation, Sunday the 7th of October at 11am? People from New Forest Village and the Friends of the plantation have all donated £5  towards the project.”

  1. This is a fantastic area to live full of community minded people. This is the first Bulb planting event the area has had but I am sure it will not be the last! The community also regularly litter picks on the Sharp Lane Plantation and has put up Bird and insect boxes in conjunction with Leeds Forestry and Wildlife we have and are in the process of planting more trees on the plantation. Our community really treasures this valuable ‘green’ environment in the middle of the large residential area. I love living here as does my husband and our neighbours!
