Brickfield Park’s celebration day

Brickfield Park in Beeston Hill was fun filled for an after school celebration last Tuesday (27 September 2022).

This was not the official opening to celebrate the newly installed play equipment. That event had to be postponed as is was scheduled for the hottest day on record (19 July).

The residents group and Kidz Klub Leeds wanted to do something with the children who had been involved, before the clocks change and we can no longer hold events after school.

There were approximately 100 people taking part in activities included badge making, seed planting and giant bubbles. Activities were also put on by by Get Set Leeds, Parkplay, the Youth Service and DAZL dance, so there was lots to do and there was a really happy vibe, the sun was shining, and a rainbow even appeared at the end.

Thanks to Slung Low and St Francis primary school for helping with logistics, and Leeds Citizens, St Lukes CARES and Council Officers for helping organise the day, which was attended by Cllr Ed Carlisle (Green, Hunslet & Riverside) and Cllr Paul Wray (Labour, Hunslet & Riverside).

Please do get in touch if you want to be involved with future events in the park, contact me on: tania@stlukescares.org.uk
